The Infrared and Terahertz Quantum Workshop (ITQW) is a specialized conference designed to foster collaboration among scientists from academia, government, and industry in an intimate setting. The event features a combination of oral and poster presentations, as well as invited and tutorial sessions, to encourage deep interaction.
The workshop focuses on the exploration of novel physical phenomena in quantum- and electromagnetically- engineered photonic materials, particularly in the infrared and terahertz frequency ranges. This spectral region is of special interest for developing innovative optoelectronic devices due to relaxed fabrication tolerances, low metal losses, tunable plasmonic and nonlinear optical properties in semiconductors, 2D materials, the presence of phonon resonances, and the ability to engineer intersubband transitions in semiconductor heterostructures. These unique properties hold significant potential for advancing the design of cutting-edge photonic technologies and applications.
